The fascist regime of PP has continued to enable the violent campaign being waged in Metekel zone of Beneshangul-Gumuz state by the radical irredentist armed group from Amhara state known as Fano.
On March 22nd, 2022, Fano forces shot and killed an Oromo boy called Jonse Amsalu Amante in Tuski Gambella, found in the Dibat district of Metekel. After killing Jonse, the militants looted over 80 heads of cattle from the community.
On March 23rd, 2022, these same forces burned down over 50 homes and chased the residents out of the area. Some residents were alleged to have been killed but no death toll has been established at this time.
It should be noted that the Fano forces stabbed and killed a pregnant Oromo women in the same district on March 15th. A day later, they also abducted 18 Oromo students who were selected from a bus on the basis of their ethnicity.
